I recently finished a children’s book illustration project for an awesome author (and person), Lissa Webber. Next to working on my own project ideas, illustrating children’s books is my favorite job. This is even more true when the author has a great concept and is as easy to work with as Lissa. The process Lissa […]
One of the most asked questions that I get when out vending is if or when I will be selling greeting cards. Well, wait no longer, greeting cards are here and available in my shop! You can buy cards in sets of 4 from the You Do You Series and Food Pun Series. You can
Self promotion does not come naturally to me…says someone posting a blog right? But truly, I love to share my work and my process but hate doing so in a way that may appear to be lead by ego. My work is made up of things that make me smile, laugh, remember, or cry and
I have been having fun with several new projects lately. I do love how my job takes me to different creative places and mindsets. When someone asks for a commissioned piece, it is always fun to hear how they would like their loved one or relationship portrayed. Now, I am obviously not who people come
As part of Piccolo Spoleto‘s chART-o-RAMA, I was invited to do a mural on a wall of Gene’s Haufbrau. Now, I am not a painter…I am much more comfortable with pencil and paper…so this undertaking was both exciting and terrifying. If you don’t live in Charleston, you may not know it, but the Spoleto and the Piccolo Spoleto festivals are a pretty big deal. Ok, so obviously people have been all a buzz about the upcoming royal wedding for months now. I started reading about it in an effort to figure out why people cared so much…I mean, why?? So I read and read and now catch myself wanting to read more…somehow in trying to prove people were silly
First off, let me say that human kids are great. I know some awesome ones that I love to be around. I am also just fine when those kids eventually go home with their loving parents. I am thrilled to be an aunt to four kiddos and love some of my friends’ kids to pieces.
Some may say that I am a bit of a kid at heart…no really, they do, don’t let my uber-professional exterior fool you (she say’s as she puts down her unicorn mug from which she sips while wearing narwhal slippers). I think that is why I truly love creating children’s books of my own and
I know it has been a minute, but I finally released a few new illustrations into the wilds of my shop. I have been super busy with book illustrations for myself and for other independent authors, and that has been great, but new members of my current collections just burst out of me like new
