Robot Love, Too Pretty to Say Goodbye:
Robot Love, Too Pretty to Say Goodbye: This title was actually inspired by a 20 year old conversation with a friend. We used to love the website Exploding Dog, where the artist, Sam Brown, would draw whatever title you submitted. The illustrations were always entertaining, and we loved it. While we never actually submitted this title, I always thought Sam Brown would have made something awesome out of it. ⠀
I decided to use it for this series, as it seemed perfectly sentimental.
I imagine this little robot collecting all the beautiful organic things he found around him, with the enthusiasm of seeing these items for the first time. But when you are immortal in a world of organic things, you eventually learn you will outlast them all. This wall is his collection of things that were too pretty to part with.
The “Teaching a Robot to Love” series is very close to my heart. I like to imagine this robot going on about his daily activities collecting data and trying to interpret behavior on Earth as best he can. His view is childlike and earnest, and he enjoys many friends along the way.
If you want to see more of the robot’s journey to find love, check out the rest of the series in my shop.
