Robot Love, Small Kindness:
Robot Love, Small Kindness: A small kindness really can go a long way. Take this scenario for example, imagine running into this dragon and he’s had a horrible day, so he’s greeting you with the stereotypical fire breathing, carnage-type behavior. You can respond to this and match it with similar behavior or you can try to understand why this poor Dragon is feeling emotional and maybe get to the bottom of it.
I feel like we make these decisions towards people on a daily basis. If someone is a jerk at the grocery store or a stranger cuts you off on the highway – sure, its easy to respond back to them with equally poor behavior. However, if we practice being better versions of ourselves, maybe we hand that person a happy “balloon” instead.
A small, unexpected kindness can potentially change their whole demeanor and perhaps the course of the rest of their day.
Just some food for thought next time you run into a metaphorical dragon.
Series Information:
The “Teaching a Robot to Love” series is very close to my heart. I like to imagine this robot going on about his daily activities collecting data and trying to interpret behavior on Earth as best he can. His view is childlike and earnest, and he enjoys many friends along the way.
If you want to see more of the robot’s journey to find love, check out the rest of the series in my shop.
