As I have mentioned before, I like to think of myself as the love child of Dr. Seuss and Gary Larson (it could happen…right?). This Friday, March 2nd, would have been the 114th birthday of Dr. Seuss. The works of Dr. Seuss influenced me as a young artist and continue to do so today. One of my latest set of illustrations, You do You, to me still rings of his ideas about being yourself and embracing your “weird”.
His quotes, whether from his children’s books or from his life, inspire people of all ages to be themselves, find fun, and not see limitations.
So, as many Dr. Seuss celebrations happen this week, consider joining in. Read to a child. Wear a crazy outfit. Channel the Lorax, and save a tree. Eat Green eggs and ham. Go to a place you have never gone. Think all the thinks you can think. Let Theodor Seuss Geisel inspire you to be the best you that you can be and to love that you!
