In honor of fall and of National Coffee Day being held in many countries in late September and early October, we are raising a mug to our Coffee Critters. First launched in 2016, these caffeinated creatures have brought that morning zen like only the holy coffee bean elixir can bring. There are many thoughts out there as to the “right” way to consume this beverage, and we acknowledge that some may even prefer not to do so. Gasp! Clutch pearls…swoon with faint…sorry, we won’t mention them again. For the rest of us, being handed “our” coffee, prepared to perfection, may be one of life’s most universal joys.
Why, yes, I could start my day without coffee. But I like being able to remember things like how to say words and put on pants.Nanea Hoffman – Sweatpants and Coffee
Coffee culture is certainly nothing new or hard to find these days. Coffee shops are found on a corner in every big city and one-horse town. Whether it’s a national chain pouring you your morning cup or Hilda at the one diner in town, you probably have your place where they always get it right. You may be so committed to your coffee relationship that even any swill from the office canteen will do (we’ve all been there.)
Life without coffee is like something without something … sorry, I haven’t had any coffee yet.Unknown
You may have found your coffee soul-mate concoction on a backpacking trip through Spain, in an all-night greasy spoon during finals week, or perhaps your grandfather taught you from the beginning how to make the perfect cup. Whichever blend of beans, water, milk, and sugar make your day better, I hope one of these critters celebrates your taste! I’d say, “Happy National Coffee Day” but no day is happy without the almighty coffee bean, am I right? So, I say “May you have a happy day!”
